Unraid Boss was born on the cold winter day of January 26th 2018. Unraid Boss is a system born of retired computers components after a recent main system upgrade. In its humble beginning Unraid Boss was actually called Raid Boss and started off running Ubuntu 16.10 LTS on an old OCZ 120GB SSD and had 3 x 4TB HDDs running in Raid 5.

When Raid Boss found its new home it also found misfortune. One of the drives in the raid had become out of sync and for months it was running with no backup. On November 25th, 2018 the grueling process of backing up Raid Boss and moving his OS and data to new drives began. This process took weeks before all the maintenance was over, but now it was now running Unraid 6.6.x with an increase drive capacity, housing 5 x 4TB harddrives and with all files restored.

Since Unraid Boss' creation it had never truely been on the web, and on January 15th 2019 it took a plunge into the Infosphere. Unraid Boss has picked up much more functionality since its first creation and so I thought it deserved its own homepage! There's no rhyme or reason for the website except to explore Unraid Boss' capabilities and as a learning expereince for myself. Thank you for visiting and taking this journey with me!
